OBITUARIES

VICKIE JO DuBOSE CUMMINGHAM
Vickie Jo DuBose Cunningham, 59, of Lufkin, died March 8, 2022 in Kingwood, Texas.  Interment was in the Largent Cemetery.  She was born August 14, 1962, in Houston, Texas to Dorothy (Gavin) and Autt DuBose. She graduated from Timpson High School in 1980.  She was preceded in death by, Father, Autt DuBose; Husband, Charles R. “Chuck” Cunningham; Sister, Patricia Ann Havens.  Survivors include, Daughter, Samantha Seale of Etoile; Son and Daughter-in-law, Bradley and Kansas Cunningham of Huntington; Mother, Dorothy DuBose of Zavalla; Sister, Avis Parks of Conroe.

EUREKA MICHELLE COOPER
Eureka Michelle Cooper, 51, of Ft. Worth and formerly of Center, died March 6, 2022, at a Ft. Worth hospital. Interment was in Carroll Chapel Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born November 5, 1970, in Center, Texas to Joyce Ann and Glenn Kindle.  She attended public schools in the Shelbyville and San Augustine area and was a very proud graduate of San Augustine High School class of 1989. She was preceded in death by, father, Glenn Kindle; God Parents, Maggie Nell and Ernest Mosby.  Survivors include, Husband, Michael Cooper, Sr.; Mother, Joyce Ann Kindle; Son, Michael Cooper, Jr (lil Mike); Stepson, Zekedrion Cooper; Brothers, Brad Roberts, David Pete McCowen; In-laws, Darlene and Billy Joe Cooper, Sr., Bridgett Cooper, Michelle Finley, Billy Joe Cooper, Jr.

ARCHIBALD CLAYTON SINGLETON
Archibald Clayton Singleton, 63 ,of Center, died March 3, 2022 at Longview Regional Medical Center.  Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Center, Texas.  Archibald Clayton Singleton, better known as Clayton and Ace, was born in Center, Texas to Leon Singleton and Erma Jean Hewitt Singleton on September 28, 1958.  He graduated from Center High School in 1977.  He was preceded in death by, Father; Mother and one sister.  Survivors include, Daughters, Jesica Anderson Singleton of Houston, Ashley Singleton Cameron of Dallas, Arid Singleton Blocker of South Carolina, Kylie Singleton of Longview; Sons, Louis Singleton of Dallas, Christopher Singleton of Dallas; Brother, Michael Singleton of Houston; Sisters, Cynthia Singeton Akilo of Longview, Vernita Singleton of Longview, Angelia Singleton of Longview, Melinda Singleton of Longview, Lisa Jordan of Longview, Sharon Singleton of Houston, Sandra Singleton of Houston,
Jacqueline Alexander of Lufkin; Sons-in-Law, Jermaine Cameron of Dallas, Te'Shaur Blocker of South Carolina.

JOSEPH DeSHAEVON GIPSON
Joseph DeShaevon Gipson, 8, of Center, died March 6, 2022, at the Center Emergency Room.  Interment was in Bennett Chapel Cemetery.

BILL PRIDGEN
Bill Pridgen, 94, of Joaquin, died March 11, 2022, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born November 6, 1927, in Haslam, to  Lurline Glaze Pridgen and Claude Pridgen.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Jane Oates Pridgen; Parents; Sister, Betty and husband Webb Dean; Brother, Johnny Pridgen.  Survivors include, Daughters, Bet & husband Don Kirkland, Cathy & husband Vance Jordan, Donna & husband Doug Hudson; Sister, Barbara & husband Jim Coulter; Brother, Richard Pridgen & wife Sue; Sister-in-law, Barbara Pridgen.

BENNIE GENE OWENS, SR.
Bennie Gene Owens, Sr. 85, died March 10, 2022. He was born in Dyer, Tennessee to Jamie Rice Owens and Tula Mae Owens, on January 24, 1937. He was the oldest of three boys, his middle brother being Richard Owens and his youngest brother being Jamie Rice Owens, Jr.  Survivors include, Wife, Shirley Owens; Children, Ben Owens, Sandi Owens Davis (Son-in-law Charlie Davis); Brother, Jamie Rice Owens, Jr. (wife Linda).
We will be having a “Celebration of Life” service at First Baptist Church in Center, Texas on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 6pm.

OLDIN FOSTER CANNON
Oldin Foster Cannon, 92, of Silsbee, died March 8, 2022.  Interment was in Cannon Family Cemetery, Shelbyville, Texas.  He was born on August 2, 1929, in Shelbyville, to Eunice Taylor Cannon and George F. Cannon.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1946 and enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. He served a three-year tour of duty with the Corps of Engineers in the South Pacific.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Helen Cannon; Son, George Cannon; Brothers, William Cannon, James Cannon.  Survivors include, Son, Patrick Cannon & his wife, Diane; Sister, Marilyn Lout & her husband, Kenneth; Brother, Robert Cannon & his wife, Wanda.

JOHNNY PATTON
Johnny "Cake" Patton, 63, of Center, died March 14, 2022 at the Center Emergency Room.  Interment was in Thompson Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born July 5, 1958 to John D. Patton (deceased) and Melba Patton.  Survivors include, Mother, Melba Patton; Daughter, Mellody Daniels (Channing); Son, Johnny Deshurn Patton; Brothers, Travis Patton (Elizabeth), Fredrick Patton, Roger Patton, Leonard Patton (Ruonney).

Funeral service entrusted with Community Funeral Home of Center, Texas.

 

DOROTEO LEON CHAIRES
Doroteo Leon Chaires, 79, of Center, died March 13, 2022, in Center.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born February 6, 1943, in Neultra, Comonfort, GTO, Mexico, to Marcelina Chaires and Cirilo Leon.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Herminia Sanchez; Parents, Marcelina Chaires and Cirilo Leon.  Survivors include, Children, Arturo Leon and wife Elvira, Cirilo Leon and wife Laura,
Jorge Leon, Blanca Bethel Leon; Sisters, Reyna Morales de Leon, Rosario Ruiz; Brothers, Jeronimo Leon, Pablo Leon.
