OBITUARIES

 

ALBERT GERALD CORBELL, SR.
Albert Gerald Corbell, Sr., 89, died April 1, 2021 in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Interment was in East Hamilton Cemetery, Shelby County.   He was born January 23, 1932 in Patroon Texas to William Perry and Aileen English Corbell.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1949 and with the desire to fulfill the required military service to his country, he enlisted in the US Navy. He served most of his tour aboard the Destroyer USS Colahan stationed offshore in Korea protecting the troops from the enemy, destroying the enemy and their support systems.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Son, Jeffery Cole Corbell; Sister, Wilma Campbell; Brother, Billy Jack Corbell.  Survivors include, Wife, Jean Eddins Corbell; Sons,
William Kirk & wife Pamela, Gerald Corbell & wife Linda; Brother, Gordon Corbell & wife Nell.

KARA LOU-ANNE FELDER
Kara Lou-Anne Felder, 26, of Center, Texas, died  March 27, 2021.  Interment was in Cool Springs Cemetery, Logansport, Louisiana.  She was born on August 8, 1994 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Michael and Julie Bates.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Danica Kathryn Felder.  Surbvivors include, Husband, Ryan Felder of Center; Parents, Julie and Michael Bates of Joaquin; Brother, Zachary Blaine Bates of Joaquin.
Services are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, Louisiana.

 

LOUIE DON SPEEDY
Louie Don Speedy, 78, of Houston, died April 3, 2021, in Houston.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born March 13, 1943, in Center, to George Mitchell and Lela Hughes Mitchell.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Richard Speedy; Sister, Helen Southerland.  Survivors include, Children, Michael Speedy & wife Cheryl of Center, Robin Holloway of Houston, Mitchell Holloway & wife Kathy of Center; Sister, Georgie Bloodgood of Center.

MICHELLE MATTHEWS
Michelle Matthews, 46, of Dallas, died March 30, 2021, in Dallas.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born February 10, 1975, in Grapevine, to Lonnie Self and Bettie Covington Self.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  Survivors include, Husband, David Matthews of Dallas; Children, Karissa Schmidt & husband Anthony of Allen, Daniel Castillo of Plano, Izzy Carley of Dallas;Sister, Yondi Upchurch of Fort Worth; Brother, Michael Brittain of Mansfield.

JAKE HUTTO
Jake Hutto, 95, died April 4, 2021.  Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born in Center, Texas on July 19, 1925.  He served his country in the U. S. Army.  He fought in the Normandy Beach Landing on D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. Jake fought hand to hand combat in General Patton’s 29th Infantry for 11 straight months through France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, and Germany earning 3 Bronze Stars for Valor and multiple medals for expert marksmanship, honor, and excellent conduct.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Lout Hutto.  Survivors include, Son, Larry Hutto of Georgetown, Texas; Adoptive daughter and son, Lynn and Randy Stone of De Berry, Texas.
Services are under the direction of Mangum Funeral Home, Center, Texas.
