CAROL DANIELS COOK
Carol Daniels Cook, 88, of Grand Cane, Louisiana, died June 4, 2021, in Grand Cane, Louisiana.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born April 23, 1933, in Ferriday, Louisiana, to Henry Daniels and Ruby Stevens Daniels. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Charles Cook; Daughter-in-law, Debrah Miller; Son-in-law, Robert Flores; Sister, Frances Lewis and husband Joe; Brother, Ted Daniels and wife Gloria.  Survivors include, Children, Cherrie Cook-Flores of Grand Cane, Louisiana, Christian Cook of Keatchie, Louisiana.

SGM ARCHIE WILLIE HARTSFIELD
SGM Archie Willie (Pete) Hartsfield, 85, died June 01, 2021.  Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Nacogdoches, Texas.  He was born on March 31, 1936 in Garrison, Texas to Cleo Patra Hartsfield Patton King.  His youth was spent in Garrison, Texas where he was raised by his grandparents John and Rebecca Hartsfield. He graduated from Garrison, enlisting in the U.S. Army immediately following graduation. While serving in the military, he received many awards and accolades including the Legion of Merit, the highest peacetime medal awarded by the U.S. Army. During his years of service, Archie had various overseas assignments including Korea, Greenland, Germany, and Vietnam. His stateside assignments include Aiken, South Carolina, Homestead, Florida, San Francisco, California, and Ft. Bliss, Texas. He moved up the ranks over the years, eventually earning the Senior Non-Commissioned Rank of E-9 Sergeant Major before retiring from the military on March 30, 1984 after 30 years of service.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Bobbie S. Hartsfield; Son, Stanley Hartsfield; Mother, Cleo Patra Hartsfield Patton King; Sister, Georgia Matthews; Brothers, Taylor Patton, Jr., Maurell Patton, Floyd Patton.  Survivors include, Wife, Pamela Hartsfield of El Paso; Son, Larry Hartsfield of Nacogdoches; Daughter, Retena Hartsfield-Harrison & husband Hiram of Center; Sisters, Shirley Watts of Nacogdoches, Francell Horace & husband Mike of Nacogdoches, Mary Alice Holmes & husband James of Dallas, Joan Dennis & husband Donald of Dallas; Brothers, Adothus McClendon & wife Margaret of Plano, LaVance McClendon & wife Etois of Irving.

Josie Harris Horton, 90, of Houston, Texas, died  June 2, 2021, in Houston, Texas.  She was born February 7, 1931. Survivors include, Children, Sharon Hamilton (Curtis) of Timpson, Pamela Joyce Jones of Houston, Josie Harper of Spring, Edward Horton (Sharon) of Center, Eric Horton (Shelia) of Humble, Larry Charles Horton of El Paso, Anthony Horton (Virginia) of Center. 

Services are entrusted to Hicks Mortuary of Center, Texas and Skipper Lee and Sons Eternal Rest Funeral Home of Houston, Texas.

HERMAN LEROY CUMMINGS, JR.
Herman Leroy Cummings, Jr., 70, of Joaquin, died June 8, 2021, in Joaquin.  Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born May 15, 1951, in Joaquin, to Herman Leroy Cummings, Sr. and Lillie Belle Murray Cummings.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Infant sister; Brother, Mike Cummings Sr. Survivors include, Wife, Lucy Cummings of Joaquin; Children, Scotty Cummings & wife Kristie of Joaquin, Angie Stephens & husband Lynn of Logansport, Louisiana, Lance Cummings & wife Renee of Joaquin, Bobo Cummings & wife Anna of Joaquin; Sisters-in-law, Joyce Berry of Converse, Louisiana, Rosie Myers of Joaquin; Brothers, Kenneth Cummings & wife Mary, Ike Cummings & wife Lisa; Sisters, Patricia Gray & husband Richard, Linda Broadus & husband Roy, Sue Raybon.
