November 11, 2018 will be the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. With the help of Mr. Larry Hume, the Shelby County Museum has a display honoring all Shelby County Soldiers involved in the war. We will have an open house from 1 - 4:00 P. M. on June 29, 2018 and invite everyone to come to see this tribute.

LOU ELLEN MENEFEE LANGSTON
Memorial services for Lou Langston, 74, of Lufkin were held on June 8, 2018. She was born to Stanton and Hazle Menefee in Dallas, Texas on May 8, 1944, but she grew up and was raised in Center, Texas. She was a graduate of Center High School in 1962. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother-in-law, Dr. Doug Stiemberg. Survivors include, Husband, George “Gig” Langston of Lufkin; Son, Gordon Langston & wife, Emily of Lumberton; Daughter, Sarah Crockard & husband, Bradford of Katy; Sister, Sally Stiernberg of Austin; Sister-in-law, Sylvia McCall & husband, Jim of Paso Robles, California.

SUSAN FOUNTAIN
Susan Fountain, 65, of Center, Texas, died June 8, 2018 in Nacogdoches. Interment was in Old Salem Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born on April 28, 1953 in Center to Granviille Waller and Luna Parker McSwain Waller. She graduated from CHS as a part of the class of 1971. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Father-in-law & Mother-in-law, Bill and Lessie Fountain; Brothers, Jerry Waller, Earl Waller, Harvey Waller, Calvin Waller, Alton Waller, Bill Waller; Sister, Wanda Waller. LLOYD BENJAMIN GOOLSBY
Lloyd Benjamin “Ben” Goolsby, 87, of Timpson, Texas, died June 8, 2018 at his home in the Tennessee Community. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson, Texas. He was born on December 20, 1930, in Shelby County Texas to Lloyd Bertram Goolsby and Susie Childs Goolsby. Ben graduated from Timpson High School in 1949. He served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Sisters, Thelma Mathis, Selma Cowan, Nora Rice. Survivors include, Wife, Claudia Goolsby of Timpson, Texas; Daughter, Tammye Marshall & husband, Russell of Mabank, Texas; Son, Mark Goolsby of Timpson, Texas; Brother: J. B. Jeff Burris, 53, of Carthage, formerly of Center, died June 9, 2018, in Tyler. Interment was in Ramah Cemetery, Tenaha, Texas. He was born November 24, 1964, in Center, to Harley J. Burris and Jenell Peace Burris. He was preceded in death by his parents. James A. Moore, 73, of Timpson, died June 12, 2018, in Timpson. Interment will be in Blair Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born September 28, 1944, in Rusk County, to James “Pete” Carney Moore and Jessie Fryman Moore. He retired from The Texas Department of Public Safety.
