OBITUARIES

 

DONNIE LEON BORDERS
Donnie Leon Borders, 73, of Center, died June 19, 2021 at his residence.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born May 1, 1948 in Port Arthur, Texas to Alton E. Borders and Susie K. Dearing Borders. He graduated from Center High School in 1966.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Gene Borders.  Survivors include, Brother, Ronnie Borders of Center; Sister-in-law, Christine Borders of Center.

CHARLES DENTON
Charles Denton, 84, of Chandler, Texas, died June 16, 2021 in Chandler.  Interment was in Corinth Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born on May 28, 1937, in Crossett, Arkansas, to Paul Denton and Marie (Miller) Denton.  He served his country in the U. S. Army.  While serving in the military, Charlie was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Merle Denton; Infant son, Charlie Joe Denton.  Survivors include, Daughter, Debra McIntyre & husband, Rob.

BARBARA BITTICK
Barbara Bittick, 93, of Center, died June 20, 2021, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born October 11, 1927, in San Francisco, California, to Earnest Matthew Bell and Ludie D Walker.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Jesse “Pistol” Bittick; Son, Bruce Bittick; Brothers, Earnest Bell, Leroy Bell.  Survivors include, Daughters, Elaine Wagnon of Center,
Marlene Doggett & husband John of Center.

PATTI GAUBATZ
Patti Gaubatz, 73, of Mobile, Alabama, died June 22, 2021. She was born in Shreveport on June 19, (Juneteenth) 1948 to Mac Shelby Smith and Mozelle Lumen Smith.  Patti grew up in Center, Texas and graduated from Center High School.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Sister, Dorcas Ann Smith Sonmor; Brother-in-law, Donald Sonmor.  Survivors include, Husband, Dr. Jim Gaubatz; Children, Daughter, Shelby Elizabeth; Son, Benjamin Andrew.
