OBITUARIES

REV. CARL C. SMITH
Rev. Carl C. Smith, 85, of Center, died August 13, 2023, in Center.  Interment will be in Sibley Cemetery, Florien, Louisiana.  He was born April 9, 1938, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to Cecil Coleman Smith and Bonnie Sibley Smith. He served in the United States Army Reserve.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Sally Philbrick Smith; Parents; Brothers and Sister, Gerald Cecil Smith, Travis Wendell Smith, Sybil Doris Edwards; Brother-in-law, Howard Lee Edwards; Sister-in-law, Nancy Segue’.  Survivors include, Wife, Charlotte Smith of Center, Texas. Children, Matthew Coleman Smith & wife Brandi of Wylie, Texas, Carla Jo Smith Denney & husband Kurt of Center, Jonathan Charles Smith & Ryan Carr of Atlanta, Georgia; Sister-in-laws, Carol Philbrick, Jackie Smith; Stepdaughters, Cindy Premeaux, Cathy Tall, Christy Cosey.

BOBBY DEAN CHEATWOOD
Bobby Dean Cheatwood, 68, of Carthage, died August 12, 2023, in Tyler.  Interment will be in O. E. Price Cemetery, Logansport, Louisiana.  He was born October 22, 1954, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Joe Neal Cheatwood and Iva Jean Pierce Cheatwood.   He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Curtis Cheatwood.  Survivors include, Daughter, Amber Cheatwood Whiddon & husband Aaron; Sisters and Brothers, Janice Bonner & husband James, Roy Cheatwood & wife Jackie, Patti Hogg & husband Cleve, Carolyn Lee, Judy Choate.

TIMOTHY GARLAND ROGERS, SR.
Timothy Garland “Timmy” Rogers, Sr., 51, of Logansport, Louisiana, died August 12, 2023. He was born November 25, 1971, to Sammy and Reba Brown Rogers.  He was preceded in death by, Father, Shelton “Sammy” Rogers, Jr.; Sister, Lori Rogers.  Survivors include, Wife, Kelly; Sons, Timothy “T.J.” Rogers, Jr. of Logansport, Louisiana, Trepton Rogers of North Carolina; Daughter, Kiley Raybon & husband Stephen of Grand Cane, Louisiana; Mother, Reba Rogers of Gary, Texas; Sister, Sharman Ballard & husband C.L. of Gary, Texas.
Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, Louisiana.

BUNA RACHEL ADDISON
Buna Rachel Addison, 96, of Center, died August 16, 2023, in Center.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born on June 26, 1927, in Shelby County to William Barto and Betty Kathleen Helton Bailey. She grew up in Waterman community and attended school there.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Junior Brown Addison; Son-in-law, Joe Fountain; Sisters, Wanda Burt, Helen Bowden, Lynn Burkett, Vaudene Owens, Ruth Gills, Lavern Merritt, Shelby Jean McDonald; Brothers, Troy Bailey, Buck Bailey, James Bailey, Thomas Bailey.  Survivors include, Children, Delores Fountain of Center, Bobby & Rose Addison of Center, Tonhia & Jerry Fleming of Shelbyville.
