OBITUARIES

LILLIE MAE MOORE MOSES
Lillie Mae Moore Moses, 95, of Shelby County and Orange, Texas, died August 12, 2023 at her home in Center. She was born June 30, 1928 to the late Jesses Moore and Leveneie Harper Moore in Shelby County and later moved to Orange, Texas.  Survivors include, Sister, Creola Cartwright; Bonus, Vicker Moses.
Services entrusted to Community Funeral Home, Center, Texas.

SHA COURY RICHARDSON
ShaCoury Richardson, 45, of Timpson, died August 13, 2023 at his home in Timpson.  He was born March 15 1978 to Elizabeth Richardson and Allen Williams in Carthage, Texas.  He was preceded in death by, Brother, Shashi Kushika Roberts. Survivors include, Wife, Sheila  Richardson; Daughters, Shacouriunna, TJ, Moesha, Rosie, JJ; Mother, Elizabeth Blanton; Father, Ike Blanton; Siblings, Isaac (Verity) Blanton, Bethany (Shannon, his brother-in-law was his longtime friend) Hooper, Andrea Williams, Jeff Williams.

DOROTHY BAIN
Dorothy Bain, 96, of Center, Texas, died August 18, 2023, at her home in Center.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center. She was born November 27, 1926, in Center, Texas to Fred “Shorty” and Mollie Baugh. She married Billy E. Ballard on September 20, 1945. They had four children, Sandy, Billy, Gayle and Ronnie. After Billy’s death in 1991 she married David Bain on April 29, 1995.  She was preceded in death by, Husbands, Billy Ballard and David Bain; Parents; Son, Ronnie Ballard; Brother, Fred “Botch” Baugh, Jr.; Son-in-law, Rogers Yarborough; Daughter-in-law, Debra Ballard.  Survivors include, Children, Sandra Yarborough, Billy Ballard, Gayle Harvey & husband Emmett; Step-daughter, Rebecca Vergiels & husband Victor; Sisters, Barbara Fischer, Bonnie Bagwell, Connie Lucas.

HAROLD LOYD COATS, JR.
Harold Loyd Coats Jr., 74, of Nacogdoches, died August 21, 2023, in Houston.  Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born January 15,1949 to Harold Loyd Coats, Sr. and Eleanor Elizabeth Lagoudis.  He was preceded in death by, Father, Harold Loyd Coats Sr.; Mother, Eleanor Elizabeth Lagoudis.  Survivors include, Wife, Linda Diane Coats of Nacogdoches; Children, Shannon Bryan Coats & wife Shanan of Henderson, Malisa Lanae Bobbitt & husband Andy of Mansfield, Adam Loyd Coats & wife Brittney of Pollok; Sisters, June Arlene Cox & husband Ron of Huntsville, Loretta Lynn Thornbrough & husband Mark of Bryan.

MARON DUDLEY MC INTYRE
Maron Dudley McIntyre, 94, died August 22, 2023.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson, Texas.  He was born June 18, 1929 to James Otis McIntyre and Effie Ora Bogue McIntyre. He graduated from Timpson High School in 1946. He served his beloved country for 14 years in the Texas National Guard.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Charles Otis McIntyre, Thomas Wayne McIntyre. Survivors include, Wife, Frances Hairgrove McIntyre; Son, Kent McIntyre; Daughter, Jan McIntyre.
Funeral arrangements are through Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson. A memorial service will be held 10:30 am Friday, August 25, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Timpson followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.

 

BETTY HORTON MITCHELL
Betty Horton Mitchell, 70, of Timpson, Texas, died August 20, 2023 at Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas.  Interment will be in Mt. Gillion Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born July 2, 1953 in Tenaha, Texas to Mr. Milton Horton, Sr. and Mrs. Carrie Shepherd Horton. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Deacon Ronnie Horton, Darren Horton, Lawrence “Mickey” Horton, Allen Horton, Robert James Shepherd.  Survivors include, Husband, Johnny Ray Mitchell of Timpson; Son, Terry Mitchell of Richmond; Daughter, Tasche Mitchell of Center; Brother, Milton Horton, Jr. (Earsie) of Shelbyville; Sisters, Peggy Brown of Timpson, Callie Horton of Timpson, Donna (Alford) Fletcher of Timpson; Sister-in-law, Sherina “Kay” Horton of Lufkin.

DENNIS ROWE
Dennis “Charles” Rowe, 81, of Center, died August 22, 2023, in Nacogdoches.  Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born November 29, 1941, in Nacogdoches, Texas to Dennis Rowe and Tommie Pilgreen Rowe.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Survivors include, Wife, Laura Butler Rowe of Center; Children, Scott Rowe & his family, Taffany Rowe Erwin & her family; Stepson, Jason Butler & wife Helen of Round Rock; Stepdaughter, Jennifer Jones & husband Kevin of Center; Brother, Wayne Christian & wife Lisa and their family of Center.
