The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting September 16, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. The guest speaker will be noted historian David Swanzy.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Alton Crawford, 86, of Shelbyville, died August 29, 2014 in San Augustine. Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born July 29, 1928 in East Point, Louisiana to Frank Crawford and Lela Belle Gilbert Crawford. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Gay Bass Crawford; Daughter, Sandy Forbes; Brothers, Frank Crawford, Herman Crawford.
