Dorothy Burton Roebuck, 89, of Shelbyville, died September 1, 2021, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in Shelbyville Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born December 3, 1931, in Norphlet, Arkansas, to Clarance Burton and Cora Mae Banfield Burton.  She was preceded in death by, Husband, Josh Roebuck; Son, Steven L. Staples; Parents; Brothers, Carrell Burton and wife May, Wendell Burton and wife Ruby, Raymond Burton and wife Mary; Sisters, Bessie Orr and husband James, Billie Molsbee and husband Bob, Kathryn Payne and husband Dick, Evelyn Delk.  Survivors include, Son, Gary W. Johnson & wife Jeanne of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Daughter, Deborah S. Staples of Bossier City, Louisiana.

DARLENE DENBY REED
Darlene Denby Reed, 54, of DeBerry, Texas, died September 2, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Interment was in Corinth Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born October 12, 1966 in Kountze, Texas to Jack and Bobby Jean Jackson Denby. She was raised and schooled in Silsbee and graduated from Tenaha High School.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Step-mother, Shirely Denby; Sister, Marcy Johnson; Brothers, Jackie Wayne Denby, Steven Wallace Denby.  Survivors include, Son, Scott White & fiancé Kate Beltane of Boise, ID; Daughter, Staci White of Beaumont; Step-children, Nina Reed, Christopher Reed; Brother, David Carl Denby of Hooks; Step-brothers, Cregg Johnson of Tenaha, Quin Johnson of Crosby.

Services are under the direction of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Carthage, Texas.

DOYLE CARTER
Doyle Carter, 81, of Shelbyville, died September 5, 2021, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. He was born December 8, 1939, in Shelby County, to Jim Arthur Carter and Audrey Johnson Carter. He taught as an Ag teacher at just about every school in Shelby County, and retired after teaching over 45 years in total from Center ISD.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Harriet Sue Kiker Carter; Sister, Johnnie Wilkins.  Survivors include, Children, Matt Arthur Carter of Shelbyville, Jay Pickens Carter & wife Courtney of Nacogdoches; Sister & brother-in-law, Sandra Sherman and Ben Kiker.

MARY LOUISE HEDRICK
Mary Louise Hedrick, 77, of Broaddus, died September 4, 2021, in Broaddus.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born January 20, 1944, in Warren, Arkansas, to William “Bill” Loy Taylor and Mary Franices Pennington Taylor.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  Survivors include, Husband, Marvin Hedrick; Children, Robert Bush & Gina Marshall of Center, Melody Griffin & Robert of Center, Steven Bush & Renee of Tenaha.

BREALON ALLEN SANFORD, JR.
Brealon Allen “Buddy” Sanford, Jr., 68, died September 2, 2021, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Interment was in Borders Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born in Houston, Texas on June 19, 1953 to Brealon and Betty (Moore) Sanford.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Sister, Susan J. Billy Don Gillaspie, 50, of Mesquite, Texas, died September 1, 2021.  He was born August 9, 1971, to C.W. Gillaspie and Levady Gillaspie of Center, Texas. He graduated from Center High School in 1990.  Survivors include, Wife, Connie Gillaspie; Children, Rylan, Blake, Bailey; Parents, C. WILLARD MICHAEL PLEDGER
Willard Michael “Mike” Pledger, 74, of Timpson, Texas, died September 5, 2021 in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Interment was in Shady Grove Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born on March 4, 1947 in Timpson, Texas, to Milton and Grace (Ramsey) Pledger. He served his country in the U. S. Army.  Mike worked for Nix Forestry for over 30 years.
