Geraldine Johnson, 88, of Center, died September 18, 2020, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born June 30, 1932, to Doss Hughes and Fernader Eaves Hughes.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Travis Lee Johnson; Son-in-law, Fern Jernigan Sr.; Daughter-in-law, Debra Baggett Johnson.  Survivors include, Children, Eva Johnson Terry of Longview, Vivian Johnson Ford & husband, Bill, of Center, Lewis Johnson & wife, Connie, of Tenaha, Glenn Johnson & wife, Teresa, of Shelbyville; Brother-in-law, Edward Johnson of Center; Sister-in-law, Ella Manshack of Center.

JEANNE DOROTHY STEPAN SAWYER
Jeanne Dorothy Stepan Sawyer, 90, died September 19, 2020.  She was born September 28, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by, Parents, James and Dorothy Stepan; Brother, James Stepan; Husband, Fred Sawyer.  Survivors include, Sister, Nancy Stutzman & husband Byron, of Boston, MA, Sister-in-law, Nancy Stepan of Tucson, AZ, Sons, Jim & wife Kathy of Center, TX, Bob & wife Karen of Park City, UT; Daughter, Nancy Fox & husband Wade of Shelbyville, TX.

DEAN FRED KAWAJA
Dean Fred Kawaja, 75, of Joaquin, Texas, died September 19, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  He was born in Ramallah, Jordan on April 21, 1945 to Fred and Suraya Kawaja. The children were gradually moved to the United States to make a better life for their family. Nour-Eddin (Dean) and his older brother Taj-Eddin were sent over in September 1956. He became a citizen November 21, 1961.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Susan; Parents; Sisters, Juliet Culpeper, Rimona Kaywood; Brother,  Rukne Kawaja.  Survivors include, Brother, Taj-Eddin & wife Beverly of Round Rock, Texas; Sisters, Taj-Mahal Dirbas of San Diego, California, Muntaha Klöetzer of Wimberley, Texas; Children, Gentry Matlock & husband Danny of Nacogdoches, Texas, Donna Barnes & husband Danny of Bullard, Texas, Freddy Kawaja & wife Karen of Smithville, Texas, Eric Kawaja of Smithville, Texas, Paul Kawaja & wife Dana of Kilgore, Texas.
Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana.

FRANK ORTEGA

Frank Ortega, 56, died September 14, 2020, in Plant City, Florida.  He was born in Hamilton, MT.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School.  He served his country in the United States Marine Corp.  He was preceded in death by, Mother, Juanita Saenz; Father, Tony Ortega.  Survivors include, Wife, Melissa; Children, Joshua (Brittany Whitworth), Katherine, Valeria, Cecilia; Brothers, Rene Rivera, John Rivera, Eduardo Rivera, Elias Rivera, Paul Rivera , Noe Rivera; Sisters, Lydia Rivera, Esther Rivera, Mary Rivera, Marlinda Saenz.

AUBREY GENE ELLIOTT
Aubrey Gene “AG” Elliott, 70, died September 22, 2020 in Dallas, Texas.  Interment will be in West Hamilton Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born on October 3, 1949 to Herbert Arthur Elliott and Mrs. Willie B. Elliott in Converse, Louisiana.  He was preceded in death by, Father, Herbert A. Elliott; His Significant Other, Debbie Russell; Brother, Herbert Wayne Elliott.  Survivors include, Mother, Willie B. Elliott; Sons, Charles Elliott & wife, Mandi, of Carthage, Stephen Elliott & wife Leigh Ann, of Carthage, Frank Baker & wife, Emilee, of Joaquin; Daughters, Sheri Shofner & significant other Jason, of Center, Beth Moore & husband, Donald “Doc” Moore; Sister, Patricia Jackson & husband, Jimmy, of Shelbyville.

Mary Watts, 69, of Palestine, died September 15, 2020, in Palestine.  Interment was in Restland Cemetery, Tenaha, Texas.  She was born March 6, 1951, in Austin, to Mose Francis Watts and Irene Smith Watts.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Sisters, Patsy Alexander, Jeanette Miles; Brother, James Vincent Meurer.  Survivor include, Sisters, Frances Sprouse & husband Delton of Austin, Carolyn Glasscock & husband Johnny of Tyler, Betty Davis of Joaquin.

ALVIE JOE BARLOW
Alvie Joe Barlow, 85, of Center, died September 17, 2020, in Center.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born February 10, 1935, to Guy Allen Barlow and Minnie Mae Lovell Barlow. He served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 30 years as an aircraft mechanic and maintenance controller for Barksdale Air Force Base Civil Service Department.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Twin sister, Alice Langford; Sister, Sarah Cruse; Brothers, Allen Barlow, Franklin Barlow, Tony Lovell, Ray Barlow.  Survivors include, Wife, Helen Jerline Barlow of Center; Children, Darrell Lynn Barlow & wife Debra Keithville, Louisiana, Ginger Barlow of Chalfont, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Kander of West Monroe, Louisiana; Sisters, Gloria Watlington, Onita Brockman.
