The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting October 20, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. The guest speaker this month will be Ms. Brandy Harding.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Glenn E. Prince, 93, of Joaquin, died September 28, 2015, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born November 26, 1921, in Timpson, to Joel Prince and April Ellen Ellis Prince. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by, Wife, Cordelia Adell Williford Prince; Sister, Jane Vanoy; Brother, Littleton Prince; Stepdaughter, Shirley Ann Husband. Survivors include, Wife, Maurine Prince of Joaquin; Children, Shirley Y. Prince of Conroe, Helen G. King & husband, C. W., of Conroe, Jimmy G. Prince of New Caney, Roger D. Prince of Conroe; Stepson, James Wayne Barton of Joaquin.
