GORDON OLIVER
Gordon Oliver, 85, died at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the presence of his loving wife and daughters. Interment will be in Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Texas. Gordon was born in Timpson, Texas to Riley B. Oliver and Bessie Whitley Oliver. He graduated from Timpson High School and then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Survivors include, Wife, Ramona Oliver; Daughters, Melinda and Rozella Oliver; Sons-in-law, David Stivers, Evan Davis; Sisters, Bessie Reeves, Carolyn Elliott; Brothers, Byron and Cecil Oliver.

JAMES HAROLD EMMONS
James Harold Emmons, 70, died October 17, 2016. A memorial service will be held on October 22, 2016 at East Texas Baptist Family Ministry following the Poissoit-Emmons family reunion. James Harold Emmons was born on October 20, 1945 to Richard Irvin Emmons and Bertha Catherine Poissoit Emmons in Center, Texas. He served his country in the U. S. Army. He was proceeded in death by his father, Richard Irvin Emmons; his mother, Bertha Catherine Poissoit Emmons; Brothers, Bill, Roger, Eugene Emmons; Sisters, Geraldine Emmons, Joyce Jackson. Survivors include, Daughters, Regina Arndt of Loudon, Tennessee, Amy Murphy of Beaumont, Texas; Siblings, Dorothy Forbis, Patsy Jo Stroud, Beverly Dickinson, Gail Allums.
 
GEORGANNA SMITH-LYDAY
Georganna Smith-Lyday, 51, died October 16, 2016. Interment was in Stevenson Cemetery, Richland Parish, Louisiana. She was born and reared in Center, Texas. She was preceded in death by, Parents, Ella Mae Webb Hall and John Robert Smith; Brother, John R. Smith, Jr. Survivors include, Husband, Harold E. Lyday; Sons, Brandon Gwin & wife, Aimee, Bryan Gwin & wife, Spencer, Son, Justin Gwin; Sisters, Lynn Windham, Cindy Adams; Step-children, Jeremy and Tricia Lyday, Jennifer and Bobby White, Thomas Lyday, Ethan Lyday.

JACKIE NELSON CANNON
Jackie Nelson Cannon, 79, of Troup, formerly of Shelbyville, died October 16, 2016 in Whitehouse. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. He was born September 4, 1937, in Shelbyville, to Jack Cannon and Odell Fittz Cannon. He graduated from Shelbyville ISD, where he was very involved in athletics. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree at Stephen F. Austin University. While attending Stephen F. Austin, he played four years of college football. After graduation, Mr. Cannon returned to his High School Alma Mater, Shelbyville ISD. There, he led the Dragons in eleven undefeated games before being defeated in the State Playoff. Many of those players are still local. He was preceded in death by, Wife, Joann Howard Cannon; Son, Chris Cannon; Father, Jack Cannon. Survivors include, Mother, Odell Cannon of Whitehouse; Stepchildren, John Wayne Covington & wife, Becky, of Troup; JoLea Rucker & husband, Billy Joe, of Troup, Jill Gay & husband, Sandy, of Texarkana; Brother, Calvin Cannon & wife, Sandy, of Troup; Sister, Sherry Cannon Neal of Saint Francisville, Louisiana.
