The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting November 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. The guest speaker this month will be Hans Polk.  Everyone is invited to attend.

TIMOTHY NORRELL TAYLOR
Timothy Norrell Taylor, 67, of Nacogdoches, Texas, formerly of Shelby County, died November 03, 2014 at his home. He was born in 1947, to Robert “Bob” Taylor and Beryl Farmer Taylor in Waco, Texas. In 1966, Tim completed the Marine Corps training in San Diego, California, and served in the Marine Reserves. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include, Wife, Georgia Taylor; Daughter, Katherine Marie Taylor Daniel & husband, Justin Daniel; Sister, Pattie Taylor Herbert; Sister-in-law, Judy Irving Browne.

Maurene Borders Jones, 93, of Center, died November 10, 2014 in Nacogdoches. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. She was born May 18, 1921 to Robert Eugene Borders and Mollie Leach Borders.
She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Marlin Jones; Siblings, Doris Borders McCauley, Mattie Borders Parker, Lewis Borders, Alton “Will” Borders, Eustis Leron “Rip” Borders, Marlin E. Borders, Edgar N. “Bill” Borders. Linda Jackson, 65, of Tyler, died November 02, 2014 in Cancun, Mexico. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, November 15th at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 East 1st Street, Tyler, Texas, 75701. Linda was born Linda Kay Barron on September 28, 1949 to Paul Orban and Dorothy Lou Irish Barron in Logansport, La. She grew up in Joaquin, Texas and graduated from Joaquin High School. She then attended Panola Jr. College. Survivors include, Husband, Royce Jackson; Sons, Mark Cockrell (wife Lesia) of Grand Saline, TX, Brian Cockrell (wife Michelle) of Fort Worth, TX; Sister, Charlotte King (husband Don) of Dayton, TX; Brother, Paul Barron (wife Glenda) of Temple, TX; Step children, Eric Jackson (wife Shelly) of Murphy, TX and Melissa Hurst (husband Steven) of Whitehouse, TX.

Billy Ray Fults, 83, of Center, died November 8, 2014 at his residence. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born April 25, 1931 in Nacogdoches County to John Wesley and Minnie Mae Webb Fults. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Son-in-law, Dennis Holt; Brothers, Raymond Fults, Wilbur Fults; Sister, Berneice Bradshaw.
