He was born August 21, 1939, in Center, to Dick Griffin and Clara Anderson Griffin. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Dan Griffin; Daughter-in-law, Vickie Case Griffin; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Buford and Jimmie Alford. Survivors include, Wife, Mary Ann Alford Griffin of Center; Sons, Robert Griffin & wife Melody of Center, David Griffin of Center; Brothers, Bobby Griffin & wife Carol of Lufkin, Jerry Griffin & wife Phyllis of Joaquin; Brother-in-law, Charles Alford & wife Mary Lou of San Augustine.

James Richard Shofner, 89, of Center, Texas, died November 18, 2019, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. He was born to Martin Lee and Bessie Flemings Shofner on December 21, 1929, in Center, Texas. He served his country in the United States Navy, where he completed a tour of duty during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Father and Mother-in-law, Jim and Gladys Snider Vaughn; Son-in-law, Michael Wilburn; Sisters, Mary Lee Reichel, Bille Jean Livingston; Brothers-in-law, Leon Livingston, Doug Parker, Pug Yarbrough, J.C. Vaughn, Bryant Birdwell, Jerry Reichel; Sisters-in-law, Doris Parker, Carol Shofner, Marilynn Vaughn. Survivors include, Wife, Rosa Lee Vaughn Shofner of Center.
