Susan Akridge Toomer, 62, of Woden, died November 27, 2020, at her home in Woden.  Interment was in Mt. Herman Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born August 10, 1958, to Luther Akridge and Edna Adkison Akridge.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Sisters, Carolyn Fenley, Joyce Chandler; Brothers, Jimbo Akridge, Benny Joe Akridge, Danny Akridge.  Survivors include, Husband, Jimmy Toomer of Woden; Children, Tonya Furnace & husband Russell of Dilley, Lacy Sherrill & husband Jonathan of Town Creek, Alabama, Eric Toomer & wife Kara of Jayess, Mississippi; Brothers, Billy Akridge & wife Jan of Center, Gene Akridge & wife Zandra of Melrose.

LARRY REYNOLDS
Larry Reynolds, 60, died November 27, 2020 at his home in Center.  Interment will be in Reynolds Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born on November 21, 1960 to Inez and G.B. Reynolds.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1979. He was preceded in death by his parents.  Survivors include, Sisters, Paula Harvey & husband, Caleb of Center, Phyllis Castillo & husband, Tony of Houston, Vicki Reynolds.

OCTAVIUS EULALEE BOWERS EPPS
Octavius Eulalee Bowers Epps, 100, died November 25, 2020 at Christus Good Shepherd Hospital, Longview, Texas.  Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born on March 15, 1920 in Center, Texas to John B. and Gertrude Hayden Bowers. She lived most of her life in Center, growing up on a large cotton farm just outside of town. She graduated as Salutatorian from Center High School in 1937. In her 100 years, she saw her family’s transportation change from a wagon pulled by mules to automobiles, the Great Depression, World War II, and man landing on the moon. She even vacationed in all 50 states! She was  preceded in death by, Parents; Infant twin brother and sister; Husband, Calvin Maurice Epps.  Survivors include, Children, Vera Epps Seilhan of  Longview, Calvin Lee Epps & wife, Pat of Houston, Leta Epps Sledge & husband, Scott of Austin.

Monise Rashell Shofner, 56, of Timpson, Texas, died November 25, 2020. She was born January 25, 1964 in Houston, Texas to Edward & Grady Lou Shofner.  She was a 1982 graduate of Timpson.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Sister, Susie Shofner.  Survivors include, Daughter, Tabitha Tucker-Wachal of Omaha; Daughter-in-love, Crystal Conger of Weathford, Texas; Sister, Jan Berry of Shelbyville, Texas.

BETTY JO WEBB
Betty Jo Webb, 80, of Center, died November 29, 2020, in Garrison.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born in Hemphill, Texas, on July 19, 1940, to Carter Arnold and Connie White.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Steve Webb; Sister and brother-in-law, Billie Ruth and Alvin Ferguson; Sister, Johnnie Mae Smith; Brothers-in-law, Eugene Webb and Joe Horton.  Survivors include, Sons, Barry Webb & wife Michelle of Crystal Beach, Texas, Darren Webb & wife Wendi of Lago Vista, Texas; Sister, Linda Horton of Hemphill, Texas; Brother-in-law, Millard Smith of Hemphill, Texas; Sister-in-law, Mildred Webb of Center, Texas.

Conway Hunter “Bubba” Mallory III, 61, of Center, Texas, died November 23, 2020 in Center, Texas.  He was born September 12, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Dr. Conway Hunter Mallory Jr. and Joann Howell Mallory. He attended and graduated Center High School.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Sister, Ginny Mallory Wright.  Survivors include, Daughter, Courtney Foster; Brother, William “Bill” Howell Mallory & wife, Anne; Sister, Connie Wilkinson & husband Cliff.

ANNIE PEARL PILOT
Annie Pearl Pilot, 77, of Center, died November 29, 2020 at her sister’s home in Longview, Texas.  Interment will be in Westview Cemetery, Center, Texas.  She was born April 1, 1943 in San Augustine. She is a graduate of the 1961 C.H. Daniels High School.  Survivors include, Son, Christopher Pilot of Center; Sister, Margie (Lamar) Turner of Longview.

JOHNNY O’BANION

Johnny O'Banion, 85, of Sugar Land, Texas, died November 28, 2020 in Pearland, Texas.  Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.  He was born February 12, 1935, in Tenaha, Texas, to James Norris O'Banion of Center, and  Mozelle (Cross) O'Banion of Center.  Survivors include, Wife, Evelyn (Latimer) O'Banion; Children, Karen O'Banion of Sugar Land, Texas; Son, Blane O'Banion & wife Alisa of Dallas, Texas. 

 

MARIE VIRGINIA HUMPHRIES-HOLTOM
Marie Virginia Nail Humphries-Haltom, 96, of Crosby, died November 24, 2020, at her residence.  Interment was in Antioch Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born December 7, 1923 in Center, to Frank Dilliard and Ima Daisy Holt Nail.  She was a graduate of Center High School.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husbands, Joseph Alton Humphries, James Hubert “Red” Haltom; Sons, Ronnie Humphries, Michael Humphries; Stepson, Tony Haltom; Brother, Blake Nail.  Survivors include, Son, Joe Lynn Humphries & wife JoAnn; Daughter, Valerie Avonne Haltom and life partner Cindy Bowling; Daughter-in-law, Judy Humphries.

Noble Ruth Ross, 89, of Logansport, Louisiana, died November 30, 2020, in Center.  Interment was in Tennessee Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born August 3, 1931, in Shelby County, to Mood Anderson Woodfin and Ruth Arbith Despine Woodfin.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Glenn Edwin Ross; Son, Paul Hollis Luman Jr. Survivors include, Daughters, Brenda Doggett of Logansport, Louisiana,
