Charlotte Ann Hughes, 80, of Center, died November 21, 2025, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center.  She was born August 7, 1945, in Joaquin, to Boyce Norris and Vernice Brown Norris.  She was preceded in death by, Husband, J.W. Hughes; Parents; Sister, Patsy Norris; Brothers, Denman Norris and Merlin “Red” Norris; Sister-in-law, Gail Norris.  Survivors include, Children, Derrick Hughes and wife Inez of Center, Shannon Lee and husband Greg of Center; Brother-in-law, Fred Hughes and wife Judy of Lufkin.

Phillip Bart Lynch, 48, of Appleby, died November 20, 2025 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born June 21, 1977 in Center, Texas to Phil Lynch and Jan Cruse.  He was preceded in death by his father, Phil Lynch. “Scooter” Tommy Gray, Jr., 65, of Joaquin, died November 21, 2025, in Joaquin. SUSAN KAREN WHIDDON
Susan Karen Whiddon, 82, of Joaquin, Texas, died November 28, 2025, in Tenaha, Texas. Interment was in Joaquin Cemetery, Joaquin, Texas.  She was orn August 26, 1943, in Dallas, Texas to Orren Cox Whiddon and Cynthia Betty Cockrell Whiddon.  She graduated from Joaquin High School.  She was preceded in death by, Parents, Orren Cox Whiddon and Cynthia Betty Cockrell Whiddon; Brothers, Lt. General Orren Ray Whiddon and Richard Abner Whiddon.  Survivors include, Sister’s-in-law, Harriot McKinney Whiddon of Lufkin, Jean Tyler Whiddon of Hideaway.

ELZIE RAY ESTES

PATSY RUTH PARRY
Patsy Ruth Parry, 63, of Center, died December 1, 2025, in Center.  Interment was in Spann’s Chapel Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born April 29, 1962, in Center, to  J. C. Oliver and Verna Marie Ross Oliver.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  Survivors include,  Son, Brian Glenn Hooper; Brother, Mike Oliver; Sister, Dianne Eaves; Special sister, Tammy Barbee.

EDWARD H. LOWE
Edward H. Lowe died November 29, 2025.  He grew up in Joaquin, Texas and moved to Dallas when he graduated. He joined the Army and was sent to Germany.   He married Glenda Faye Smith August 21, 1963 and they were married 58 years until her death in 2021. He was preceded in death by, Wife, Glenda Lowe; Parents, S.E. and Thelma Lowe.  Survivors include, Son, Charles Lowe and daughter-in-law, Jackie Lowe; Daughter, Mylissa Messer and son-in-law, Rick Messer.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Lydia Missionary Baptist Church, 14198 FM 139, Shelbyville, Texas 75973.
