JOHNNY H. HARVEY
Johnny H. Harvey, 84, of Logansport, Louisiana, died December 3, 2022, in Mansfield, Louisiana.  Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born August 17, 1938, in Huxley, to Edna Jane Cassell Harvey and John Eddie Harvey. Johnny attended school at Strong High School graduating with the class of 1956. He was preceded in death by, Wife, Lucille Harvey; Parents; Brothers, Rodney Harvey,  Thomas Harvey; Sister, Syble Shoalmire.  Survivors include, Sons, Anthony Harvey & wife, Judy, of Carthage, Mike Harvey & wife, Cheryl, of Huxley; Brother-in-law, Jerry Burkett; Sisters-in-law, Kay Harvey, Connie Harvey.

DEANTRE BURNS
Deantre “Tre” Burns, 22 of Joaquin, Texas, died November 30, 2022.  Interment was in Sardis Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born on August 29, 2000, in Center, to Angela Marie Haessly.  Survivors include, Mother, Angela Haessly Fisher & stepfather, Kadeem Fisher; Brothers, Jayden Burse, Jordan Burse.

DONNY PARKER
Donny Parker, 70, died December 2, 2022, in Joaquin, Texas.  Interment was in Duncan Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born November 26, 1952, in Mineral Wells, Texas.  He worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space Company, teaching computer science to the military troops. He retired several years ago and bought his place. Cattle, goats chickens, and a great big Pyrenees dog name Mouchet.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Patsy Parker; Father, Lavon Parker.  Survivors include, Mother, Dot Parker Grant; Step-father, Noel Grant; Son, Joshua Parker of Oregon; Daughter, Sara Lynn Watt of Maine; Brothers, Robby Parker & wife Pam, Wesley Parker, John Parker.

DAVID NATHAN LEWIS, JR.
David “Little Man” Nathan Lewis, Jr., 43, of Timpson, Texas, died December 4, 2022, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born on October 26, 1979, in Dallas, Texas, to David Nathan and Eva (Hutto) Lewis, Sr.  He was preceded in death by, Grandparents, Freddie and Marie Hutto, and Rev. Gene Lewis; Uncles, Johnny Lewis and Roy Hutto.  Survivors include, Parents, David and Eva Lewis; Grandmother, Charlene Lewis; His children.

JANE ELIZABETH McALLISTER PHELPS
Jane Elizabeth McAllister Smith Smith Fields Phelps, 70, died December 2, 2022 in Houston, Texas.  Interment was in Lower Chireno Cemetery, Nacogdoches County.  She was born in Nacogdoches, Texas on November 22, 1952 to William McAllister (Mack) Smith and Clara Elizabeth (Betty) Palmer Smith.  She worked in Center for Dr. Robert I. Hughes nearly 40 years where they became chosen family.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Richard Dutton.  Survivors include, Her favorite husband, Mark Phelps; Daughter, Dianne Phelps; Stepson, Alphaa Fields; Special friend, real daughter, accomplice and chauffeur: Alma Jaimes; Sister, Louise Nelson of Punta Gorda, Florida; Brother, Bigs and Judy Smith of Boise Idaho; Sisters in Law, Jon Rholes of Kyle, Laura Jo Richardson and Kirk of Jasper.

CYNTHIA KAY
Cynthia “Sam” Kay, 69, died December 5, 2022.  Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born September 28, 1953, in Center to Bill and Evelyn (Bates) Wise. She grew up in the Joaquin area and graduated from Joaquin High School in 1973.  “Ms. Sam” impacted the lives of countless children in her over 26 years of service to Tenaha ISD. She began as a para-professional and served as the elementary secretary. During her years with the school, she served many roles including being a bus driver, cheer/drill team sponsor. She was instrumental in helping to re-establish the marching band program.  Sam was honored in 2021 by being inducted into the Tenaha ISD Hall of Honor.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Billy Ray and W.D. Wise; Sister, Katie Campbell; Husband, James Conway.  Survivors include, Husband, Harold Kay, Jr.; Son, Gabe Owens of Joaquin; Daughters, Buffey Vestal & husband Gary of Gilmer, Jamie Walker & husband Cody of Bedford; Step-son, Kenneth Conway & wife Tracy; Step-daughter, Rhonda Samford & husband Ronnie; Sister, Joy Rankin & husband Lloyd; Mother-in-law, Nancy Kay; Sisters-in-law, Nannette Hendricks & husband Skipper, DeAnn Niles & husband Dennis, Cassie Thompson & husband Jim.

Clarence “Larry” Paul Fontaine, 81, died November 30, 2022. He was born to Orugene Emil Fontaine and Clara Pauline Surprenant Fontaine in Ludlow, Massachusetts.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Orugene “Gene” Louis Fontaine, Albert Delphis Fontaine; Sisters, Roberta Mae Fontaine Howe, Joan Marie Fontaine Deschaine; Wife, Lula Beth Pitts Fontaine; Stepson, David McConaha. Survivors include, Wife, Cathy Renee Cranford Fontaine; Son, Justin Cody Fontaine (Daniel Zorn); Brothers, Ernest Ramon Fontaine, Ellery “Dick” Richard Fontaine (Mary); Sisters-in-law – Charlotte Fontaine and Audrey Fontaine.

ABRAHAM CHAVIRA GALVAN
Abraham Chavira Galvan, 53, died December 7, 2022, in Center.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born March 16, 1969, in Tamazunehale, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to Odon Chavira and Francisca Galvan Hernandez, Abraham.  Survivors include, Wife, Edith Chavira; Son, David Chivira.

BRYAN WILLIAM BLUE
Bryan William Blue, 33, of San Augustine, Texas, died December 5, 2022. Interment was in Chumley Cemetery.  Bryan was born March 8, 1989, in Center, Texas, to parents Venita (Horne) and William "Bill" Blue.  He was preceded in death by, Father, Bill Blue; Grandparents, Bernice (Pickard) and John Daniel Blue, and Helen Horne; Uncle, James Blue.  Survivors include, Mother & step-father, Venita and David Horton of Tenaha; Children, Joshua Blue, Jaycob Blue, Ryan Mutters; Brother, Josh Blue & wife Maranda of Silsbee, Step-sister, Candace Hendrick & husband Patrick of Timpson; Grandfather, Willie R.
