OBITUARIES

NAOMI JOYCE VERNER BRIMHALL
Naomi Joyce Verner Brimhall, 74, of Bryan, Texas, died December 11, 2023, in Angleton, Texas.  Interment was in New Hope Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born December 9, 1949, in Paris, Texas to James Walter Verner and late Velma Davis Verner.  She graduated from Center High School in 1968. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Ronald M. Brimhall; Brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Laura Verner; Brother, Gerald Verner; Brother-in-law Roy Mitchell. Survivors include, Sisters, Mary Mitchell of Nacogdoches, Jane (Merrell) Anderton of Sheffield, Alabama, Carolyn (Darren) Wines of Lake Jackson; Sister-in-law, Betty Verner of Lufkin. In addition, Naomi gained six sons through marriage, Michael, Todd, Patrick, Tyson, Derek and Sean, and each of their families.

DON VINCENT INGRAM
Don Vincent Ingram, 88, died December 10, 2023, in Dallas.  A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Wood Methodist Church, 383 County Road 425, Tenaha, Texas.  He was born in Gary, Texas on November 3, 1935. He was preceded in death by, Father, Wallace Vincent Ingram; Mother, Alva Harris Ingram.  Survivors include, Brother, Stephen Brown Ingram; Daughters, Alice Louise Ingram Mattox, Tiffany Jay Ingram, Brandyce Ann Ingram.

THOMAS LEE STOKES
Thomas Lee Stokes, 73, of Tenaha, died December 12, 2023, in Tenaha.  Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born October 9, 1950, in Floresville, to Marion Francis Stokes and Lillian Haiduk Stokes.  He was preceded in death by, Son, Tony Lee Stokes; Daughter, Franshaire J. Stokes; Parents.  Survivors include, Children, Kathy Ann Allison-Stokes, David Michael Stokes and wife, Melissa, Heather Lee Stokes, Holly Etheredge and husband, Dillion.

LESTER RAY LEWIS
Lester Ray Lewis, 59, of Tyler, died December 14, 2023, in his home.  He was born to Mother, Lillie Mae Polley and Father, Joe Lewis on August 2, 1964 in Center.  He served his country in the United States Army.  Survivors include, Son, Tae Tae; Sisters, Linda Kaye Johnson, Amona Nash, Vanessa Chumbley; Brother, Rodney Randle.

SYLVIA ANNE CROOKS
Sylvia Anne Crooks, 70, of Longview, Texas, formerly of Center, died December 14, 2023, in Longview, Texas.  Interment was in Gladewater Cemetery, Titus County.  She was born on May 21, 1953, in Crockett, Texas, to Leon Aldridge and Indianola (Johnson) Aldridge.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Son, Matthew Crooks; Sister, Peggy Aldridge.  Survivors include, Daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Cherokee Brewer of Longview; Brother, Leon Aldridge, Jr. of Center; Sister and brother-in-law, Leslie and Tom Honolka of Nashville, Arkansas.

TERRY HARRIS
Terry Harris, 68, of Flatwoods, Texas, died December 20, 2023, in Flatwoods, Texas.  Interment was in Adams Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born on October 31, 1955, in Lumberton, Mississippi to Emzley Jasper “EJ” and Bernice Marie Terry Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents.  Survivors include, Wife, Anitra Harris of Flatwoods; Sons, Shaun Harris and wife Kerrie of Deadwood, Dustin Harris and wife Tara of Flatwoods; Sister, Connie Rogers and husband Milton “Bubba” of Joaquin.

JOE ALLEN McSWAIN
Joe Allen McSwain, 89, of Center, Texas, died December 20, 2023, in his home.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born on October 31, 1934, in Center, Texas, to Kermit A. McSwain and Cora Mae (Spells) McSwain.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Becky McSwain; Parents; Sister, Jackie McSwain.  Survivors include, Daughters, Leann Baldwin and fiancé, C.J. Foy, Jonise Holley and husband, Ronnie.

JIM COULTER
Jim Coulter, 87, of Joaquin, died December 21, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born July 15, 1936, in Center, to Jack Coulter and Jimmie Hughes Coulter.  In 1955, Jim graduated from Joaquin High School.  He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Sister, Martha Anderson; Son-in-law, Shawn Seymour.  Survivors include, Wife, Barbara Coulter; Daughters, Terri Smith and husband Stevie,  Tammy Seymour.

DIEGO ALBERTO RUIZ
Diego Alberto Ruiz, 17, of Center, died December 26, 2023, in Center.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born March 1, 2006, to Jose Alberto Ruiz and Marisol Espino-Diaz.  Diego was a senior at Center High School.  Survivors include, Parents, Jose Alberto Ruiz and Marisol Espino-Diaz; Brothers, Brayan Ruiz, Angel Ruiz; Sister, Karen Ruiz; Sister-in-law, Cinthya Ruiz; Brother-in-law, Jose Gonzalez.

James Quinton Curry, 76, of Joaquin, died December 25, 2023, in Center.  Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Logansport, Louisiana.  He was born November 8, 1947, in the Bethel Community of Logansport, Louisiana, to Solan Curry and Ruby Whitton Curry. RORY ROBERT RISINGER, SR.
Rory Robert Risinger, Sr., 65, of San Augustine, died December 25, 2023, in San Augustine.  Interment will be in East Hamilton Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born January 1, 1958, in Orange, to Paul Gene Risinger and Virginia Welch Risinger.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Tammy Risinger; Son, Ryan Paul Risinger; Parents.
