MALCOLM WEAVER
Malcolm Weaver, 97, of Center, died October 8, 2015. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Center, Texas. He was born on June 5, 1918 in Center, Texas to Marion and Stella Weaver. Malcolm was considered a pillar of the community as a local businessman and entrepreneur at Weaver Brothers Lumber Company and Town & Country Real Estate. He served with distinction as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army in World War II and was involved in the European Theatre of Conflict. He was preceded in death by, Wife, Connie Weaver; Brother, Martin Weaver; Sister-in-law, Joy Weaver. Survivors include, Daughter, Mary Crain & husband, Tom Crain of Corpus Christi; Son, Mark Weaver & wife, Mary Jean Weaver of Woodland Park, Colorado. He was President of Center Rotary Club from 1953 until 1954, he was President of Center Chamber of Commerce from 1957 until 1958, President of Shelby County Historical Society from 1962 until 1965, and President of Piney Woods Board of Realtors in 1970. He also served as 1st President of Gateway to Texas Charter, Sons of The Republic of Texas from 1995 until 1996.
